Huntingdonshire Parishes - Spaldwick

 

Brief Description:

SPALDWICK, a parish in the hundred of LEIGHTONSTONE, county of HUNTINGDON, 3¾ miles (N.E. by N.) from Kimbolton, containing 332 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Prebendary of Longstowe in the Cathedral Church of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at 12.0.10., and endowed with 200 royal bounty. The church is dedicated to St. James. There are places of worship for Baptists and Independents. Fairs for cattle are held on Whit-Monday and November 28th.
